PLIF Technique
Actipore™
PLFx
is the second generation of lumbar interbody fusion devices,
providing maximum choice and flexibility during surgery and allowing surgeons to
address each spinal pathology individually.

The Actipore™
PLFx
devices are
manufactured from
a biologically and biomechanically compatible porous nitinol material. Actipore™
has an elasticity almost identical to cancellous bone that results in load
sharing.
The
isotropic interconnected porous structure of the device promotes rapid tissue
ingrowth in conjunction with bone cell survival, negating the requirement for
additional bone graft or bone substitute and eliminating associated morbidity.
The
trapezoid shape of the device offers a large support area - 100% of the device -
resisting to subsidence and facilitating bone integration from the vertebral
endplates.

The
anterior aspect of Actipore™
PLFx is
rounded off to facilitate implant insertion. It also features a central hole on
the posterior wall in which the implant holder can be inserted.
Actipore™ PLFx
is provided with different geometry. Superior and inferior parallel surfaces are
suitable to achieve uniform disk distraction while a 6 degrees angle is
available when lordosis needs to be restored.

Actipore™
PLFx
is designed to be inserted pair-wise via the posterior-anterior axis within the
inter-vertebral disc space.
A
dedicated, simple set of instruments offers ease of use and procedural
efficiency.
Actipore PLFx
is a technologically proven solution that allows a safe and efficient treatment
for spinal pathologies associated with degenerative disc disease in the lumbar
spine.
