Lumbar
Interbody Fusion Device without Posterior Fixation.
No
bone graft required.
Actipore™
PLF System - PLIF Technique
The Actipore™
PLF System consists of a range of finely engineered lumbar interbody devices
providing maximum choice and flexibility during surgery, thus allowing the
surgeon to address each spinal pathology individually.
The Actipore™
PLF devices are manufactured from a biologically and biomechanically compatible
porous nitinol material. Actipore™ has an elasticity almost identical to
cancellous bone that results in load sharing, and an isotropic interconnected
porous structure that promotes rapid tissue ingrowth in conjunction with bone
cell survival, negating the requirement for additional bone graft and
eliminating associated morbidity.

A large number of implant size options, 10 in total, enables a precise fit under
the most demanding surgical situations. Designed as an interference fit with a
high coefficient
of
friction, this implant allows surgeons to effectively
immobilize - and thus significantly increase the likelihood of fusion - selected
segments of the lumbar spine. As a consequence, the fusion rate and time
required to achieve fusion are enhanced, leading to earlier patient
mobilization.
A dedicated, simple set of instrumentation offers ease of use and procedural
efficiency.
